Is bsc in biotechnology job oriented? or biotechnology in engineering job oriented? Which is best bsc or engineering??
Coming to job, maximum companies look out for candidates with good hands on experience. If you are a B.Sc holder you will have advantage as you have more practical exposure.
Most of the students tend to pursue their MSc in Biotechnology or a specialized discipline of biotechnology. With an MSc degree, most students tend to work in research labs and industries as research assistants.
Since India is still developing it is highly recommended that you do your m.sc in a reputed institution for good campus placement and job Oppertunities.
Hi dear,
Hope you are doing well!
Now let's go through your question.
As you will be knowing that a Bsc is a three year program, whereas, a B.tech program is of four years. In a B.tech degree program, you would be required to study courses that are engineering based.
A common misconception is BTech (engineering) is better than BSc (pure science), while a few confident students stick to BSc as their career goals are clear. Some feel BTech is tough and they won't be able to perform up to the expected level, while others feel BSc is way too easy.
Definitely, engineering is more job oriented than a B.sc degree in biotechnology. As engineering deals with theory as well as practical implementation.
Thank You & All the best!
Dear Aspirant,
You have interest in the field of biotechnology.
It is a very good Branch. But you are confused between two degrees, wheather to choose "Bachelor of science in biotechnology" or "Bachelor of Technology in biotechnology".
I would suggest you to opt for bachelor of Technology in biotechnology. It is one of the growing branch of engineering.
If you become a biotechnology Engineer you can build your career in well known biotechnology companies, hospitals, health care centres or pharmaceutical industry.
But Bsc in biotechnology is more research oriented. So job scope is less in this case. But you can become a successful professor by completing bsc,msc and PhD in biotechnology.
