Dear vasantha chowdekhari,
If you want to be a professor of a good and reputed engineering Btech degree is not sufficient. All the good and reputed colleges ask Mtech or above as an essential qualification to be a professor. They have a point that for a teaching you must be of a level higher then what students are pursuing ig you just have same levep of qualification then you wilp not be able teach them effectively unless you have masters on that subject. Great institutes like IITs only accept masters and PHD holders for teaching as they have to maintain a level of teaching.
But many polytechnic and ITI institutes and even some private and low level institutes for filling they seats they do accept bachelor's of engineering degree as with this quality it becomes economic for them.
I hope you got your answer for further clearance you can ask freely.
Thank you!

Yes it may be for some small level private engineering college where their motto is to just hire a employ for filling the vacant space for a subject but for good reputed college M.Tech and even Phd is required. For some rare case IIT Btech graduate may have a chance for that in some good college.

It may not be sufficient because there will be given most preference to M.Tech candidates.
