The CFA program isn't necessarily a course and instead is a credential that can be earned by candidates who successfully clear all the associated examinations. As it is an examination-based credential, it is safe to say that the entire curriculum or syllabi is highly theoretical but is often described as 'practice-based'.

As far as the test-content goes, as the CFA credential is designed to be suited to individuals seeking to integrate themselves in the global investment profession, it is undoubted that a majority of the questions are mathematically oriented. In fact, accounting and finance are highly mathematical and statistic-based subjects, therefore the CFA credential is awarded to candidates skilled in accounting, finance and other aspects of investment.

Its purely theoretical and doesnt have Mathematics or Accounting. Its an application of Accounting principles and standards in due dilligence and investment banking. It use statistics and Mathematical approach for Equity analysis and stock market forecast

CFA basically has 3 levels which need to be cleared.
