Hello Harjot,

Chemical Engineering, no doubt is a very interesting branch. Knowing about day to day chemical reactions that occur around us, as well as performing interesting experiments, conducting interactive tests, and trying to find out new chemicals, working with new instruments, and all are quite fun. But if you plan to get a good placement through this branch, the opportunities in India are quite less. You should be alumni from top Indian Institutes such as the IITs or IISCs in order to get absorbed in top MNCs. You can get into pharmaceutical companies, perfume testings, biological industries, etc. Therefore, the opportunities are quite less but really interesting and if you have the passion to do a work that will inspire you, and after doing which you will get to know something productive, then chemical engineering is the branch for you. Chemical Engineering is all about interest, pls don't expect very good placements from this branch especially in India.

Coming to other branches such as EEE and Mechanical, similar is the case with these branches. Although better than Chemical, these branches to have very limited opportunities. You will find some opportunities in the public and government sectors. Most of the candidates from these branches either pursue an MBA or go towards study abroad. Banking or Civil Services is the other most popular option for such kind of graduates.

Now coming to CSE and ECE, ECE being a mixture of 3 branches has maximum opportunities. Candidates from the ECE branch who are good in coding have maximum opportunities. They go to Software as well as core companies. Since there are many start-ups in today's time, as well as there are many government policies, such as that of Digital India, as well as there is scope in web development, cybersecurity, machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, Big data Analytics, etc, therefore there are ample job opportunities in CSE. Being in an elite college such as IITs and IIITs with CSE branch can fetch you a placement of even 1 crore!

You must have heard about CSE students getting placed in dream companies such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and so on, with packages more than 1 crore per anum. Therefore there is a huge demand for CSE people hence placement wise, CSE is far better than Chemical Engineering in India, in the present scenario.

Now the decision is yours, which is the better branch.

Hope this Helps

Regards.

CHEMICAL ENGINEERING IS A GOOD COURSE. ITS ALL DEPEND WHERE IS YOUR INTEREST IF YOU WANT TO STUDY CHEMICALS THEN OPT IT OTHERWISE CHOOSE WISELY BECAUSE IT WILL BE YOUR FUTURE MARK.

CS IS COMPUTER SCIENCE SO YES IT HAS SOME ABOVE POINT AS TECHNOLOGY SECTOR IS VAST NOWDAYS.
