hello shaily

with no doubt Civil Engineering is a good career option because as the world is developing day by day So we need a number of Civil engineers to help in construction.

Amongst all branches of engineering, the application of civil engineering is the broadest and the most visible. Demand for civil engineers is rising in many countries around the globe due to extensive implementation of various constructional and infrastructural projects. Civil engineering consist of various branches and each branch has different roles and importance. Civil engineers have career options in various disciplines which they can opt according to their interest.

Different branches/areas of Civil engineering:

Structural Engineer: Structural engineers focus mainly on analysis and design of structures like buildings, bridges. The study generally involves the identification of different types of loads that would act upon a structure and plans for making the structure safer from these loads

Geotechnical Engineers. : Geotechnical Engineers focus on mainly analysis & understanding properties of soil, foundations, rock, underground water, site and structural conditions, in relation to a construction project.

Environmental Engineers: Environmental engineers focus on mainly designing of treatment units to control air, water and soil pollution and environment management

Water Resources Engineer: Water resource engineering deals with collection and management of water. Water resource engineers deals with construction of water works like hydroelectric plants, dams, irrigation and navigable canals, reservoirs, bridges, culverts, storm sewers, water pipelines

Construction Engineers: Deals with planning, construction and maintenance of structures. It includes the execution of design projects. It deals with construction planning, scheduling and controlling of construction projects

Transportation Engineers: Transportation engineers focus on mainly planning, construction and management of transportation facilities.

Surveying engineer: Deals with surveying and levelling of lands using various instruments, mapping & contouring of terrains, etc. Surveying is the important step for planning and designing of construction project.

Earthquake engineer: Earth quake engineering is the Study of seismic forces, earth-quake resistant structures etc. Earth quake engineer focus on constructions structures like bridges, buildings resistant to earthquake and develops building technology methods to reduce the impact of earthquake

Coastal engineer: Coastal engineers works in the coastal area to monitor the coastal areas and to protect the areas from erosion, flooding and sea storms.

Material science: Study of Material Strength, properties of materials used in construction, ceramics, etc

Urban Engineers/ Planners: These engineers play an important role in urban planning and deals with public works include structures such as city roads, pavements, fresh water pipelines, waste water disposal systems, public parks.

best of luck!
