Civil Engineering is a pretty decent branch and is opted by a lot of girls because of the fact that it is comparatively easier than the other engineering branches like Mechanical, Electrical or CS. The percentage of women is also higher in branches like Biotechnology, Metallurgy, and Environmental. But, it is suggested that you decide your course depending on your interests and expertise. If you like a subject and feel that the curriculum of the subject intrigues you, then go for the branch regardless of what other girls are preferring. The placement in civil engineering is decent but has shown deprivation in the past few years due to a decline in the construction sector. But a few colleges still offer good placements like the IITs, NITs, and DTU. NIT Delhi has great placement opportunities for almost all branches.
