Its true that if you see the Government vacancies for different engineering divisions, then Civil Engineering surely have quite a good number of vacancies available. So if you wish to go in government sector then Civil Engineering undoubtedly is a good sector but in private sector the field don't have that much of a pay. The salary packages are low and the job profiles are not that great. As a result that way CSE get a edge but the vacancies in Government sector for CSE is quite low.

Hello student,

Civil Engineering can be done both in the public and well as private sector. As more and more innovative construction projects are taken under for government purposes and more roads are built to connect various cities, the government sector civil engineering will keep booming. As residential areas need will keep increasing, the buildings for people to stay will increase, thus increasing the demand for civil engineers in private sector as well. As far as India is concerned, as it is still a developing country, you have and will have an evergreen scope for civil engineering in this country. However, as the country also pledges to move towards Digital India, your chances of CS placements in India will also increase. Many companies like Tata, Wipro, etc hire students in India. But, there are quite more vacancies in foreign countries too for this Industry.

So, now you can decide your passion and choose your branch accordingly.
