Indeed the CLAT exam is a very important exam if you want to pursue in field of law. CLAT or the Common Law Admission Test is a national-level Law entrance exam conducted by the Consortium of NLUs every year. The exam is conducted for admission to five-year integrated -LLB ( BA LLB , BBA LLB  , BSc LLB , BCom LLB  , and LLM  courses. This particular exam helps to secure a seat in the NLU's as well as other private universities accepting its score.

It is considered the most prestigious entrance test as it is conducted all over the India . Students from different states and backgrounds appear for this test to secure their position in top law schools such as NALSAR , NLSIU etc . Apart from the participating 22 NLUs, various private Law colleges also accept CLAT scores to provide admission to candidates to LLB courses offered by them. Every year, many private colleges sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the CLAT Consortium under which they reserve some seats only for CLAT aspirants. CLAT provides you the opportunity to get top-notch placements at some of the top companies. As per the NLU placement reports, at the end of a Law course, NLU students on an average get placements ranging from Rs 4-16 lakh per annum .

However it is not the only exam which needs to be focussed on . There are many other private colleges that conduct their independent entrance tests and do not consider the marks of CLAT exam . AILET considered as the gateway to National Law School Delhi is another important exam that offers a 5 year course in law after class 12th . If by any chance you are not able to crack the CLAT exam , don't lose your hopes and focus on other law entrance tests like AILET , LSAT , ULSAT , RULET etc .
