Hello,

Carbon Monoxide which is generally termed as CO is basically treated as Neutral oxide Because it doesn't show any reaction when it is reacted with water. but it can react with hot concentrated sodium hydroxide solution to give a solution of sodium methanoate.  The reaction of carbon monoxide with basic hydroxide ions displays its acidic character. Hence it is slightly Acidic in nature.

Hope this information, will help you.

Hello Candidate,

Carbon monoxide is a gas which is neutral in nature which means that it neither reacts with acids with bases and moreover it does not even change the colour of litmus Paper.

Some other examples of neutral oxides are nitric oxide, nitrous oxide, etc. Hope you found it helpful.

If you have any further queries feel free to post it here!!
