Hello Aspirant,

Computer Science is more about deeper  basic knowledge of a specific field, while Computer Engineering  build hardware.

  • Computer Science started as a branch of Mathematics, while Computer Engineering began (and still is considered by some) as a branch of Electrical Engineering.
  • Computer Science students learn about computing theory, programming, environments, algorithms, data security and transfer, etc. Computer Engineering students discover how to develop, prototype, and test microchips, circuits, processors, conductors and any other components used in computer devices or systems (e.g. supercomputers, smartphones, laptops, servers, IoT gadgets). They also develop the firmware, an essential type of software that allows operating systems and applications to take full advantage of the hardware.
  • Computer Science specialisations

    • Artificial Intelligence
    • Machine Learning
    • Human-Computer Interaction (HIC)
    • Data Science
    • Cyber Security
    • Cloud Computing
    • Video Game Development
  • Computer Engineering specialisations

    • Hardware Systems
    • Distributed Computing
    • Robotics and Cybernetics
    • Embedded Systems
    • Computer Graphics and Visualisation
    • Medical Image Computing
    • Computer and Network Security

Hope this will be helpful!

Thank you!

Hello there,

Yes computer science and computer engineering are two different courses. Computer science students learns about computing theory, programming, environment, algorithms, data security and tranfer etc. While computer engineering students discover how to develop, prototype, and test microchips, circuits, processor, conductors and any other components used in computer device or system. They also develop the firmware, an essential type of software that allows operating system and application to take full advantage of hardware.

Computer scientists work with computation theories, powerful algorithms whereas computer engineer develop the hardware and firmware on which software and systems run.

I hope you got the answer. Good luck!!

Hello Dev,

The main thing first of all the question you asked about which of the following subject is consisting of the Hardware and whats the major difference Then here is what you need Computer Science Engineering(CSE) : - This is the part of engineering where many gets confused. This is a slight different from COMPUTER ENGINEERING. In Computer Engg. the main aspect is to get the all over information whether it is hardware or the Software. While the CSE is related with the Design of the compiler and how the working of the computer and their compilers works here also you will learn about the software and programming but it is more concerned with the COMPILERS DESIGN and its WORKING. While the CE works wuth the hardware like Micro - Processor and the software part
