First of all Congratulating you on your nice performance that you deserve such a nice college. Now I would like to tell you that computer science engineering is almost first choice of almost 80 percent student because of its placement and scope in private sector. And then getting NIT trichy is something that adds feather. So if you are interested in computer science engineering then I would suggest you to prefer NIT over iit where you are getting some other branch.

YES, NIT Trichy is one of the best institutes for the CSE branch.

The main factor is PLACEMENTS.

Last year i.e. 2018, 100% students got placed from the CSE branch, which in itself is huge.

Massive MNC's like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft regularly visit for recruitment.

Around 60% of students managed to get a package of around 10 LPA.

The average package last year was 15 LPA and Highest was 28 LPA offered by Amazon.
