Is computer science is compulsory subject to become aeronautical engineer?
Hi,
It is not mandatory to study computer science to become aeronautical engineer. Here we have discussed how to become an aeronautical engineer.
Step 1: The student should have cleared 10+2 with physics, chemistry, and mathematics in order to qualify for various engineering entrance examinations.
Step 2: After completion of a 10+2 in physics, chemistry, and maths with an aggregate of 50 percent marks or equivalent from a recognised board, the students are required to appear in engineering entrance exams in order to get into a college for pursuing a bachelors course.
Popular entrance examinations
JEE (Main) : Joint Entrance Examination Main
JEE (Advanced) : Joint Entrance Examination Advanced
SRMJEE : SRM Joint Entrance Examination
VITEEE : Vellore Institute of Technology and Engineering Entrance Examination
Step 3: Students need to study bachelor degree courses after clearing the entrance tests.
Popular bachelors programmes
B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering
B.Tech. in Aeronautical Engineering
B.Tech. in Avionics Engineering
B.E. in Aerospace Engineering
B.E. in Aeronautical Engineering
B.E. in Avionics Engineering
Step 4: Once the student has completed his or her bachelor's degree there are two options that the student can choose.
Option 1: After completion of a B.Tech, the students can start working as an engineer in various private companies as well as government agencies.
Option 2: Students can also pursue an M.Tech and after that, they can opt for a Ph.D. programme in the related specialization.
Popular Master's programmes
M. Tech in Aerospace Engineering
M.Tech. in Aeronautical Engineering
M.Tech. in Avionics Engineering
M.E. in Aerospace Engineering
M.E. in Aeronautical Engineering
M.E. in Avionics Engineering

Not necessarily just computer science, you can choose specializations in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Automobile, Chemical, Naval Architecture, Electrical, Electronics, Metallurgy & Material Science, Instrumentation, Mechatronics.
To become a aeronautical engineer you will have to do btech in the above specialization mentioned(either one) and for that you will be required to appear for entrances like Jee Main, BITSAT, Jee Advanced etc. Admission to master’s courses like M.E./M.Tech will be done on the basis of GATE examination.
