Is Computer Science is necessary in class 11th and 12th for software engineering??

Hello Aspirant,

Hope your doing good

No not at all compulsory. You can persue software engineering i.e basically the computer science engineering without taking computer science in 11 and 12th. ... students have  to complete bachelors in the field and then progress towards becoming a software engineer.

but if you opt for computer science or jee courses it might be useful when your taking up BE/BTECH As your UG course. incase  choose any of the following option.

1) opt for engineering drawing

2) opt for computer-science.

Hi Akash

No, computer science engineering is not a prerequisite in class 12 for pursuing software engineering later. Once you enter college, you will be taught computing from scratch. In fact, taking up Computer Science now will only take up the time you could give to PCM instead, so if possible, try taking a subject that requires less effort and time eg. Physical Education, Sculpture etc
