Both construction engineering as well as printing engineering has good placement record in Jadavpur University.However construction engineering has an upper hand as it has better placement record and more options as well as growth prospect in India.
On the other hand the placement in printing engineering is just average and there is not much scope in India.If your interest is in coding then let me tell you, there are mechanical engineering people who do better coding than CSE people.
So, follow what your interest is and jobs will follow you.

As far as your interest lies in IT/ Software/ Finance/ Analytics it doesnt matter you are from which branch. It is totally your responsibility to learn new skills and master technologies during your stay in the institute.

However I would suggest you to take Construction Engineering as you may have certain placement prospects in Core in Companies like L&T, Tata Projects and Shapoorji Pallonji. Suppose you develop interest in the subject you may go for a Masters in Civil or Structural Engineering or a PGDM in Project Engineering and Managememt from Institutes like NICMAR Pune and have good career prospects.
