Dear Tulip,
As of now, the Diploma in Child Health (DCH) of the College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPS) of Mumbai is recognized under MCI, along with two other, i.e. Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Dip. in Path.& Bact. However, all other diplomas being offered by CPS were deleted from the first schedule of IMC Act 1956 through notification published in Gazette of India on January 22, 2018.
Now regarding admission to DNB PDCET, (Provided you are asking that and means that by Secondary DNB). After passing the PG diploma (recognized by MCI) with required percentage, you will be able to appear for the DNB PDCET examination and become eligible for admission. Now, the CPS DCH is a diploma programme. If it is equivalent to PG Diploma, I am doubtful.
Hope it clarifies to an extent.
Good Luck!
Hello Tulip,
The decision of de-recognition of CPS DCh diploma is done after the consultation with Medical Council of India and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. However, no notification of de-recognition of the DCh diploma course has been released by the respective authorities. Earlier, as per the notification published on January 22, the ministry of health and family welfare de-recognised 36 medical postgraduate diplomas granted by College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPS).
It is still a matter of question that on what grounds did MCI and ministry derecognised these courses. However, asp per the leading papers, in 2017 there was a rush to recognise the PG diplomas without following the complete technical procedure.
CPS DCh diploma is one of the courses which has not been de-recognised by the ministry.
Hope this helps and all the best...:)
