Based upon the information given on the official website of the college, I have given the difference between the two courses i.e. B.Tech CSE and B.Tech CST.
CST puts emphasis on the mathematical foundations, which includes algorithms and hence programming — primarily at the application level. Usually, not much focus is given on hardware.
In contrast, CSE generally involves understanding, designing, and optimizing not only what the hardware and software aspects of computing systems are, but also how they interact. Therefore it includes topics from both computer science and electrical engineering. However, the emphasis is on things like logic design, computer architecture, compilers, operating systems, and embedded computing systems (interfacing computers inside other devices).
