Yes, diploma is okay for you to start a career in Oil & Gas industry. But being a Diploma student, it limits your progress going ahead. Your further progress will take due time because of your educational qualification. So, yes you can start a career in Oil & gas by doing diploma but the progress will be slow. You can take admission in engineering, attempt GATE exam & join a PSU in Oil & Gas industry. This way you get a higher package & you get to work in Oil & Gas industry itself. Just you will have to invest 2-3 years extra after your diploma.
