NEET is the entrance examination for admission to MBBS,BDS, Ayush and Veterinary courses across India. And in India we have approximately 11 lakh Candidates participating in NEET every year for admission to Government Medical Colleges, Private Medical Colleges and Deemed/Central Universities. These 11 lakh Candidates compete for a mere 90,000 to 95,000 MBBS seats. The ratio is 1:11. Now these Statistics are important to know because to give you an idea of competition involved. All these seats are filled through Constitutional reservations. There is a merit list released and a transparent Counselling process involved for a seat to study MBBS. We do not know how well your study pattern or how determined you are to get a seat. We are also unsure of the fact whether you want a seat in a GMC or you are fine even with a Private Medical College. We cannot comment or decide on your behalf without such details. But what we can suggest you is appear for NEET first, gauge your performance against the cut offs and then take a call accordingly. But to just answer your questions it is not bad to drop a year. Many Candidates take a gap year to focus on NEET preparation. Some come back strong and secure a seat while some do not. It completely depends on the preparation and how the year was used.
Hello Suhu, From my point of view about all the entrance exam on the basis of that i suggest you that ones give a exam of NEET and think about that can some pratice or a study make you like that you can clear after one or two year then obviously dropping a year is good but you want to drop in pressure of someone other like family or friend or you see others that they drop a year so you also do the same thing then that was bad.
Hope you understand and get your answer :)
