EC is not a bad branch but for the future job their is very less chance to get job if you are not in any best iit or nit. But if you are in state college or any below college then you have to do hard work on yourself like good in coding, great knowledge of circuits, do maximum projects, etc... then you have a chance to get a placement in any better company.
