Dear aspirant,
Applied electronics and instrumentation engineering is a branch of engineering which deals with the application of existing or known scientific knowledge in electionics. It involves a lot of practical knowledge and designing equipments.
EIE branch was started in 2004-05 in CVR so it is fairly old and there are many P.HD qualified professors for this branch.
To make a choice about should you take the branch or not, i recommend you go over the syllabus for it. You can see for yourself about the infrastructure and vision, etc. on their site(Link below)
