Its tough, engineering not going to be easy ever, however, ECE is atleast easier than Electrical Engineering. It is a good blend of Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering , Electronic Materials and modern technologies like Internet of Things, Microelectronics, Material Science, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. However ECE has excellent career and research prospects. It is one of the branches which will never lose its importance in future.

See,no course can be judged as tough or easy.
But yes it's entirely depends on your subject interest.ECE mainly deals with the embedded systems,digital electronics, control system,V LSL design,wireless and radio communication systems.
If you are truly interested in electronics and communication engineering(ECE) branch and actually want to make career in it... then you should definitely go for it.There are lots of opportunities in this field.And it is also true that every branch of engineering really needs dedication, skill in that field, and hard work.
One more important thing is
ECE is not a chased branch,where you keep following specific area and you keep expanding on that,its not like that .
It is highly multidisciplinary
So consider this factors and think on that.
Then..start focusing on what you feel sure about.

If you've interest in electronics so there's no hard or easy in the EC branch . Electronics and communication branch is so interested if you have personal interest. EC engineers mainly focus on and testing of electronic equipments used in various systems.
EC engineers also work in communication and broadcasting system.
