See if you are not having financial problem and if you can take admission in top private colleges like BITS and VIT, NIST then there is no much trouble if you will study for 4 years but taking admission to any private colleges is not a good idea at all. So think before the admission and try to get some good ranks for the government colleges and if you can't get that then only go for private colleges.

Look actually it is thought that private college demands  a high fees and doesnot provide you jobs you deserve . Bt it is not true for all colleges . If you leave top colleges then also there is a good probability of jobs even if you can't manage a good job from campus placement you can go for off campus placements also . Take a wise decision in college selection . You should select a college that you can afford without any pressure

Private college consist of the great variation in themselves on One have to Hand we have institutes like BITS Pilani which is considered to be better than most of the IITs and on the other hand, we have institutes which function only to make degrees. If you consider some of the Premier Private Engineering colleges of India then It doesn't matter. But in our society for some reason, it matters few consider Govt colleges to be better than Private ones. Anyways ignore them.

Now if you are talking about Private college which has some reputation in cities or sometimes in the state then You will learn almost same thing what you could learn in IITs but the difference is that You will not get the first opportunity. Since Govt college s considered to be good so companies prefer to go there Here also if you are a good student at your college then nothing to worry about.

On a final note I would say that Private or govt it doesn't, matter much what plays a key role is your passion about Engineering, If you are someone who loves Engineering then You are going to do same thin which You could do After joining IITs.
