No, there are never major changes in gate syllabus. There can be some minor changes like pattern, marking scheme etc., but not something major.

The syllabus of GATE compiles all that a candidate learns in the B.Tech course. The syllabus of GATE mostly remains same with a slight excluding or including of topics which is also not that common.
