NCERT IS THE BASIC BOOK THAT YOU NEED TO GO THROUGH FIRST BEFORE TAKING UP ANY OTHER BOOKS. AS FOR HC VERMA, I WILL SAY IT IS BEST FOR NUMERICALS ( SINCE IT CONTAINS A VAST NUMBER OF PROBLEMS AS WELL AS SOLVED EXAMPLES). BUT I WILL RECOMMEND YOU TO TAKE UP ANOTHER BOOK FOR BUILDING YOUR CONCEPTS AS HC VERMA'S THEORY IS NOT SUFFICIENT. FOR THAT YOU CAN GO FOR:

  • CENGAGE SERIES (BEST OPTION AS IT CONTAINS BOTH VAST NUMBER OF SOLVED EXAMPLES, UNSOLVED PROBLEMS AND AN EFFICIENT AND APT THEORY FOR BUILDING THE CONCEPTS)
  • DC PANDEY (BEST FOR THE THEORY AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND LANGUAGE)
  • RESNICK HALLIDAY (BEST IF YOU ARE REALLY LOOKING TO BUILD AN IN DEPTH CONCEPT OF THIS SUBJECT)

NCERT is highly recommended for the JEE exam. However you might want a more detailed explanation of topics or more examples and problems to solve than there are available in NCERT. In that case you can follow HC Verma and other books like DC Pandey for more extensive study.

Hello Dear Student,

Concepts of Physics by HC Verma is a Good Book but NCERT Books of Physics are also recommended for JEE Preparation.

Other Recommend standard books:

1. Problems in General Physics by IE Irodov.

2. DC Pandey.

3. Resnick Halliday.
