However, they will be given provisional admission only till the time they submit a certificate from the Principal / Registrar of their University/institution (issued on or before the date as stipulated by the respective IIM) stating that they have completed all the requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate.

The calculation of the marks percentage will be done on the basis of the practice followed by the respective University/Institute. In case the Institute/University offers grades/CGPA, the conversion to a percentage of marks would be based on the procedure as certified by the respective University/Institution. In case there is no such conversion scheme followed by the institute, the equivalence will be calculated by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result by 100.

Eligibility
Candidates must have a bachelor's or its equivalent degree. Minimum Marks: Pass the above exam with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% marks for SC/ST/PwD categories). Appearing candidates of the final year of Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination can also apply.
So yes you are eligible for CAT.
Your 10 & 12 marks definitely imp to get call from the top B-Schools. 10 & 12 build your profile.
But if you perform outstanding in CAT U will get a good college for sure.
Good Luck:)
Candidate must have 50% aggregate in Bachelor's Degree. There is relaxation of 5% in graduation marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates. So, according to it you are eligible for CAT exam.
Now answer ro second part of the question. For getting into top 50 Bschools you need to get 85%+ percentile in exam. This is the minimum I am suggesting. To get a good school you need to have very high score in exam. Set it as a bench mark and aim for higher than this.
I hope this helps you.
All the best!!
Your 10th and 12th percentage is not required for cat exam. You need to score above 50% in graduation.
However, your 10th, 12th as well as graduation marks are extremely important for getting shortlisted to various colleges. IIMs give a very heavy weightage on your past academic performances. Apart from that, you can take my word that even top 20 to 25 bschools lay equal weightage to all of your past academic performances.
Added to that, when you will be appearing for the final placements in your 2nd year of MBA, you might not be able to apply to maximum reputed MNCs as they have a shortlisting criteria that involves your past academic performances.
Analyze every factor and take a wise decision before appearing for any exam as just giving the exam is a baby step. After that there's an entire war to be fought and you are absolutely going to need necessary equipments for that.
Let me know in case you need further clarifications.
