is iit Madras mechanical engineering good in terms of all aspects?

IIT Madras is one of the prestigious institutes in India especially from undergraduate engineering courses that includes Mechanical as well. According to some website, the range of salary is 5 to 31 LPA.
The Mechanical Engineering Dept. of IIT Madras is one of the oldest and biggest Depts. of institute. It has 9 fully equipped laboratories and 60 distinguished faculty members. Students are provided exposure to academia and industry.

First of all, it is an IIT you are talking about. IITs are supposed to be Institutes of National Importance , so do not underestimate the faculty and academics in the Mechanical department of IIT Madras. IIT Madras is about 61 years old and has been rated the top engineering institution by the National Institutional Ranking Framework for four consecutive years - 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
The infrastructure is no doubt the amplest in all respects. The labs are equipped with the latest equipments. One will get a lot of exposure to industries, various experiments happening all around the globe. The mech department is the biggest of all with 66 faculty. The Mech dept. also has an incubation cell. The placements in the Mechanical department is about 79.67%. The average salary is around 12 LPA CTC in Mech dept. The highest salary can go upto Rs.32 lakh
