This engineering deals with both the fields of measurement and automation. It has its own perks  and is related to control system or control theory . After btech it has also various jobs opening. You might be wondering what jobs you can get .Here in cnitrol and instrumentation (C&I) engineers are responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes. Dear Shravan,frankly saying that this is a good branch to study having different disciplines but still if you are just asking about scope or placements in India,then it totally depends on your college.This branch has very few good colleges in India and less no. Of core companies currently.Generally you can join some local companies as a fresher to gain experience where you should not expect a salary more than 20k per month.So,you should focus on your interest of study.If you are interested in it,then only go towards this option rather if you are interested in CSE/IT then you can have better job opportunities in INDIA and you will work in AC offices.So,rest depends on you.For,better job in Instrumentation you require a min. 5 years experience or you should go higher studies in foreign else you can get a good rank in GATE by studying a lot in final year and join some PSU.For that your rank should be under 100.You can also become a teacher in engineering colleges after higher studies in Instrumentation.You can have a better scope of you are good in robotics and automation as it is in demand.PLC,SCADA,C++, PYTHON,MATLAB etc. are different skills required.So,it all depends on your college reputation and also you can switch to IT companies if you want as programming is in syllabus.
