If you want to start early with a more technical background, then going for the Diploma course followed by a BTech Lateral Entry course will be of immense help and also it has quite a good career ahead. Now if you are wiling to go for the BTech CSE courses in premiere institutions such as IIT's, NIT's, then you can't do it because the lateral entry course isn't offered by the institute.
So if you are ready to go for the BTech CSE lateral entry course from the state engineering institutes/private/government engineering institutes, then you have no issues and you can join the course of Diploma in CSE. Now if you wish to go for the IIT and NIT's then you should go for the 12th because, the eligibility criteria suggests that the student need to pass the 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in there 10+2 & also have to qualify with required ranks for IIT's & NIT's.
