First thing before choosing any branch think twice because it's a decision for your next four years.

Sometimes students take the branch by campus facilities or by looking at placements,  and that's wrong.

Selection of branch should be the decision based on your interest in the subject.

If a guy likes CSE but for a good college he opts material some where,  then it might be a hard task for him to complete his material degree in those four years.

So better go with way in which you can perform better. If you are more interested in CSE and you think you can do good in that,  then opt for it.

Else, non core is best at NIT.

Also, there's an option for branch change after 1 year,  but you have to study hard for one year in college.

AS FAR AS PRIVATE COLLEGE IS LIKE VIT ETC THEY ALSO HAVE GOOD CAMPUS FACULTY AND PLACEMENT IN COMPARISON TO NON CORE BRANCH OF NIT.
