Please check the placement reports, check the syllabus taught and faculty details. If you have highly qualified faculty and a good placement report, then it is a good college. also check the cutoffs of last year. the ones with the higher cutoff is more preferred by students.

Other than that CSE is a branch which you can hone on your own if you put effort and actually that is the best method to go. In addition to the syllabus taught, you will have to learn all that is required to have that extra edge.
