Hello Piyu
It is not compulsory to take computer science as a additional subject in xi and xii , if you want to pursue BSC in CS.
Admission to CS BSC will be on basis of your xii board marks and your marks in maths .
But if you get chance or you can get a seat in CS category, it will be well n good. As you will be able to gain basic knowledge. Usually in first year of BSC non CS students face difficulties , but CS students won't. This is to a fact. There is one more benefit of CS in STD xii, as it is included under vocational subject. If your PCB or PCM marks are less in xii, one of subject either bio or maths can be replaced by CS subject to get the eligible marks.
At the time of admission in CS BSC , CS candidates are ahead in merit list.
So don't miss the opportunity to go for CS in xi and xii.
Dear aspirant,
No it is not mandatory to have computer science as a subject however it is highly advisable to have it as you have your basics buildup in your eleventh and twelfth grade and you could easily comprehend the advanced topics in your bachelor's degree. Students without computer science background in their 11th and 12th struggle to grasp the basics in their degree.
Moreover you will become familiar with what is computer science basically about and what is coding etc.
Hope this helps. Thank you.
