CA foundation was started by ICAI and to appear for the Foundation exam you must  register with the board of studies of the institute.  It is conducted twice a year , that is,in May and November.  It can be done online from the official website  and to register online the candidates have to provide their personal information along with a registration fees of 9000 but you can register for CA foundation throughout the year . The cutoff date for Nov session is 30th June 2019. The total cost of registration fees can amount up to 9800  if a student chooses to have a subscription to students journal and subscribes for members journal as well. You would have to pay it at the time of registration and not afterwards. All the best.
