is it compulsory to write all four subjects pcmb for bsc agriculture
The B. Sc (Ag.) degree in India is typically a 4-year course under credit based semester system.
There will be Statistics instead of Mathematics.
Physics and Chemistry in Soil Science.
Subjects in Agriculture:
- Agronomy — the science of crop production, field crops, water and weed management
- Entomology — insects pests and their management
- Plant breeding and genetics— breeding of field and horticultural crops, plant biotechnology
- Plant pathology — diseases of field and horticultural crops and their management
- Soil science — soil fertility, soil chemistry, manures and fertilisers
- Horticulture — production technology of fruit crops and vegetables, post harvest management
- Agricultural Economics
- Agriculture Extension
- Agricultural Engineering — farm power and machinery
- Other subjects includes Agricultural Microbiology, Statistics, Biochemistry.
These are the subjects to study in 3 years.
In the 4th year, there will be programmes like
RAWEP— Rural agricultural work experience programme - Village stay for certain period of time,and interacting with Farmers and demonstrations.
Agricultural Experimental Learning programme.
