Yes, definitely you can score a good rank in JEE Main being a general category student. Your aim should be scoring good marks only. Don't think of the other reservations and so on, it will just make you feel worried. It is better that you focus on your preparation. Once you get good rank, no one can stop you from getting a good college. So your target should be getting a good percentile like 97 or above. Good rank can't be achieve without efforts and handwork, specially when you are preparing for JEE Main . But you can make it easy by solving test papers, last year question paper and with alot proper understating of the syllabus.

However there are reservations for many categories but then even general candidates must not be upset over it. If you think it will be easy for you to score good in jee mains but if you don't then no one can help you with this thought. You have to work hard as compared to the reserved category students but this will definitely pay off one day. There is a high competition for general candidates but keep your hopes high and keep working hard.
