Nationality
Candidates must be an Indian citizen to appear in IAS, IPS and IFS examination.
Educational qualification:
The only educational qualification is required to appear in the exam is that candidates should have a degree from central, state, deemed university or open university. A degree received through correspondence or distance education is also accepted.
But the following candidates need to submit proof of eligibility from a competent authority at their institute/university at the time of the main examination
There is no minimum percentage required in qualifying examination.
Age:
The minimum age required to appear in the exam is 21 years on 1 st august of the year of examination and maximum age is different for different category.
Maximum age: General – 32 years
OBC -35 years
SC and ST 37 years
Defence Services Personnel disabled in operations during hostilities- 40 years
PWD – 37 years
Domiciles of Jammu and Kashmir-32 years
Number of attempts:
Total number of attempts is also different for different categories. The attempt limit for General category candidates is 6, for OBC candidates limit is 9 times and for SC/ST candidates the attempt limit is unlimited till 37 years of age.

For appearing in the UPSC you need to be qualified till graduation level and completion of BBA is equivalent to graduation courses.BBA is quite good and better option for scoring high in graduation.Moreover the topic of administration is already introduced in BBA so students aspiting for UPSC will have no problem.
