Hi Atul,
The IT services companies were recruiting very less, and there was a decline in ‘mass-recruitment’ for most of the state-level govt. or private colleges (leaving some). The in-house dept. has 30 (IT) + 30 (CSE)=60 seats for B.Tech. The companies which came for on-campus drive or pool were OFSS, Wipro, Infosys, Kreeti Technologies, Hitachi Consulting, Innoraft (through Co-Cubes assessment exam), Juspay and Optimise (1st round filtering done through MyAnatomy assessment test scores), Kovair Software, Veda IIT, ADP, Keyence. Till now, more or less 50% managed to get a job. Rest were either preparing for GATE/IAS so didn’t sit for the tests or had backlogs.
Few of the students managed to get a job independently, one managed to crack an internship at Hackerrank (off-campus), another student cracked an internship atViacom18 (marketing profile). Few others also went for software development jobs at different startups (off-campus). Hoping for some more companies this year.
Another guy from this batch is a successful entrepreneur so didn’t require placement.
This was more or less the summary of the batch of 2018 at MAKAUT (in-house).
Overall, to sum up, it was not one of the better placement years for the college. But, if seen from a broader perspective, many other govt. engg. colleges had the same kind of placements this year.
