Is it good idea to opt ECM over ECE?

ECM- Electronics and Computers. The curriculum is same like name coalesce of ECE and CSE. And in this we dont have any communication subjects and it is more of computers. Coming to Branch preference few companies are still unaware of this. And, department and faculty are good but not on par with other departments.
