Is it good to take civil engineering to go for ssc cgl
The pattern of SSC CGL examination requires you to be capable of having knowledge from subjects like Verbal reasoning,Non-Verbal Reasoning, Critical Thinking, Emotional & Social Intelligence, Economy, Polity, Geography, History etc.
These subjects/topics has nothing to do with which branch you study in B.Tech because no questions will he asked from that. So, you can take any branch and prepare for SSC CGL.
I hope this helps.
Many engineering students in the recent past have opted to go for Government Job Exams quite different to their relative field, examples being UPSC or even SSC, there are no restrictions in terms of belonging to specific streams in these exams also, however there are certain posts in SSC CHL for which eligibility criteria are bit different such for the post of Assistant Audit Officer or Assistant Account Officer where the desirable qualifications is CA/CMA/CS/MCom/MBA etc,( candidates who qualify this post further have to go through service exam conducted by the concerned department for further confirmation of the post), in case of Junior Statistical Officer having maths in 12th is mandatory or else Statistics as a subject at graduation level, for Statistical Investigator Grade II having Statistics at graduation level is important, except these post for all the other eligibility criteria is simply passed graduation in any stream from a recognized university. SSC CGL consists of four level, the first two are conducted in online mode with mcq format, third level is descriptive test, fourth level is skill test of data entry and computer proficiency test. Interview doesn't feature anymore in this exam.
