Is it important to win olympiad madel to become good scientist. Can I become a good scientist without it.How can I do it?
Of course you can become a good scientist without winning Olymiads.
You need to seriously pursue your Bachelors degree in a Science or Engineering Stream followed by Masters degree from a Top IIT or IISc Bangalore or perhaps Top Universities Abroad. Till then you will surely find your research interest in your resoective stream and perhaps can start discovering that by doing projects with your professors in your institute.
After Post Graduation you must pursue a Doctoral Degree as a final academic acclaimation in your career. Post Ph.D you can perhaps join a National Laboratory or Public Research Organizations like ISRO, DRDO, BARC and other National Laboratories under CSIR in Research Capacities. In most Top Universities in India and Abroad, top Conglomerates and MnCs like Samsung, Tata Steel, Intel, Microsoft, Applied Materials, Apple recruit Doctorates for their Research Operations and Scientists and Researchers.
Besides this you can also join a Top University as a Researcher for a Post Doc after Ph.D. Followeing a stint in Post Doc you can perhaps join a University or Top Technical Institute like IIT as a Researcher cum Assistant Professor and continue with your research and your transformation into a scientist.
Dear Candidate,
Winning ab Olympiad gives you the perfect stage for better connections throughout the globe. The more you can publicise your work, the more people will notice your work. You need to get into the community of scientists. Although you just need to deeply delve in to the topic of your interest & research a lot. If you want to become a scientist, try contacting some of the idols you have from this community via email or social media handles & ask them how you can approach the same for your career. Being in touch with the community of scientists helps a lot as you don't deviate from your goals & do less of the mistakes you were going to commit. So, I'll suggest you get in touch with some scientists from India or abroad & let them know your query.
