It was a proud moment  for LPU when ICAR issued it first accreditation to a private university. The fact that vouches for LPUs credibility in agriculture is that Lovely Professional University is the first private university to be accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Lovely Professional University (LPU) has become India’s first private university to get ICAR accreditation due to getting one of the highest Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Rating of 3.42/4, among all Universities.

Under this accreditation, various agricultural based degree programmes of LPU have been approved by ICAR. These approved programmes include B.Sc.  Agriculture (Hons) with GPAP of 3.72/4; M.Sc. Horticulture (Fruit Science) with GPAP of 3.75/4; M.Sc. Agronomy with GPAP of 3.60/4; and M.Sc. Genetics & Plant Breeding with GPAP of 3.60/4.
