Social media acts as an aid in lot of ways for a content writer, more so speaking in terms of marketing of your service, if you have specific skills that you can monetize as in terms of helping other people out, other than this that you learn a lot by reading content of fellow writers, networking is an important for freelancers irrespective of the domain you belong to, and social media provides that, being on all social media platforms is completely your choice, firstly you have to understand your purpose behind joining a specific social media platform, whether it's you're creating content/networking with other people/making people aware of your skills and services you offer, this has to be a consistent efforts, for different people things work differently, some may prefer to be on all platforms other may not they would rather prefer to be active in two/three platforms where they are consistent, like I said you have to comprehend what's your reason behind joining, and if at all it's serving your purpose then stick to it, if it becomes too tough to handle all the platforms, go for the ones which is providing you benefits, for that of course you have to join all the platforms, for example in terms of work purpose linkedin and facebook is great, there are groups as well, twitter too is quite popular among content writers, there is quora as well which you can use effectively, the role of social media is quite important for a content writer especially if you're a beginner, as it helps you getting noticed among people for your skillsets, and networking is quite vital here, in terms of learning process, quite a time people do get recommendation from peers/clients, and once you start working, and you gain enough experience in your relative field, and share the same in your social media, people get to know you better, once you establish yourself, you get approached for work, and work opportunities increase manifold,
