Dear Manjusha, attending the foundation course is mandatory and MCI has made it clear. While the repucursions of not taking up the foundation course for MBBS/BDS course haven't been revealed, as it is a month long course, if you do not attend foundation course, you might lose out on one month's attendance. And when students do not report to college for a month, their names are taken off the attendance register.

Hello Kelam,

Yes, it is obviously mandatory to attend the classes for the first month or any other month or week of your course. Foundation course is

a mandatory one month course to teach students as how to fit in Medical Colleges. Attending this is mandatory. MCI has already made that clear and No permission can be entertained in this matter.

All The Best.
