Is it mandatory to have maths as a subject in 12th boards to pursue B.tech Biotechnology in IIT/NIT?

Dear priyanshu,

You are not eligible for JEE if hadn't take math as a mandatory subjects in your 12th examination.

You must have minimum 75percentage in your PCM for giving JEE exam.

So, you aren't allowed to take any branches without giving JEE exam.

hi Aysuh. Thanks for resolving the query. I have a followup question. I read the entire brochure for JEE Mains available on its website. Nowhere it mentions the compulsion to have PCM to atleast appear for the exam. Infact, I apperaed for it in January. But, I know IITs require minimum 75% in PCM. SO maybe the NITs / IIITs consider admission on the basis of JEE mains since it doesn't demand Maths to be a subject, at least to appear in the exam. Maybe I can't secure a seat through counselling, that is a valid consequence. But I definitely did appear for the exam.
