Hii Nitish,

you can appear in JEE main Paper 1 or paper 2 or both.

paper 1 is for B-Tech course like-

  • Computer Science Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical engineering
  • Electronics and communication engineering
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Textile engineering.

and paper 2 is for-

  • B-arch.

Engineering in Architechture.

The eligibility criteria for appearing in JEE main is only passed 12th with PCM.

and For admission in NITs, eligibility criteria is min 75 % aggrigate in 12th board.

and for JEE advance The only eligibility criteria is to clear cutoff of JEE main.

hope you understand

thank you

Hey Nitish,

JEE MAIN is basically for the study of engineering. During the form fill up of the JEE MAINS, you will find out you have to choose between paper 1 and 2 or you can opted for both.

So basically paper 1 is for the study of b.tech while paper 2 is for the study of b.arch. It is not necessary to attend both the paper to get qualified for jee advnc.

Eligibility criteria for JEE ADVANCE

1. Performance In JEE Main

You have to be in top 2,24,000 in Paper 1 of JEE Main. However, the total number of candidates can be slightly greater than 2,24,000 in the presence of tied .

27% seats for OBC-NCL category,

15% for SC category,

7.5% for ST category

and the remaining 50.5% is OPEN for all.

2. Age Limit

You have to be born on or after October 01, 1993.

You have to be belonging to SC/ST/PWD category will get a relaxation of 5 years.

You have to be born on or after October 01, 1988.

4. Year Of Passing Class XII
