Yes ofcourse it is necessary for you to appear in NEET exam if you wish to pursue BAMS course.
The admission to all the AYUSH courses is done through the scores of NEET Exam itself and it is compulsory for the candidate to have a valid NEET score.
There is no seperate entrance or direct admission into AYUSH courses So only way out is to appear and qualify NEET.
NEET exam is scheduled on 5th may 2019 and application forms have already closed.
Incase you have not submitted the application, you will have to wait for the next year and appear in 2020 NEET.

From 2018 onwards various courses like bams,bums,BHMS,bvsc etc have been included in NEET so it will be necessary for students to give NEET exam if they want to take admission in bams course.i hope this information helps you.
