Is it necessary to study maths and science in 11th and 12th for giving entrance exam of NDA?
Hi Varda,
No, while it is not compulsary for you to have studied Science in class 11th and 12th but Maths is mandatory. So, even if you are not a science stream student, you can still appear and excel in the exam given that your Maths and Aptitude is very strong. However, having said that, a science will be advantageous, no doubt.
Also, what you need to understand here is that if you come from a non-science background, then you can only apply to get into the Army and that also only through NDA because there you get a BA degree while in your term. Whereas in the other two forces, since they are highly technical, you need to have studied science at the +2 level and they offer you a B.Tech Degree during the term.
I hope this was helpful and I wish you all the very best.
Hey Vardan.
The eligibility criteria for NDA- Army wing states that you need pass 12th boards in any stream in order to be eligible to take NDA. Hence taking Science and Maths isn't compulsory for Army wing.
But The eligibility criteria for NDA- Airforce and Naval wing states that you need pass 12th boards with maths as well as Physics in order to be eligible to take NDA. Hence taking Physics and Maths is compulsory for the Naval as well as the Air force wing.
Best of luck
