Namaskar Apoorav. Thank you for asking the question. We at Careers360 will help you to solve queries as possible. MD is post graduate degree course for which NEET-PG is compulsory. You can also pursue DnB or other Diploma courses through other exams. Also, there are individual exams for AIIMS, JIPMER that can be given to enter the respective colleges. If you deem the scope of the colleges all over India and some of the best colleges, then NEET PG will be a necessity. Live Long and Prosper. Nitish Nadkarni.
Yes, it is mandatory to write NEET, It's an entrance exam and to enter a course you have to secure a passing score.

I'm giving the details below:
Firstly, ORTHOPEDICS is a branch of medicine that deals with the correction of any sort of deformities in the bones and muscles of the human body.
Secondly, since correction of bone deformities will sometimes involve surgical intervention, this post graduation course is a MS course (Master of Surgery) and NOT MD (doctor of medicine) course.
Thirdly, what does it take to call yourself an orthopedics surgeon?
You need to first appear for NEET-UG entrance, clear it with a good merit and grab a seat into any of the medical colleges across the country, pursue MBBS course. The duration of which is 5.5 years.
After you successfully complete your graduation, you need to appear for another entrance EXAMINATION which is NEET-PG, contest to get into the merit list again. Since orthopedics is a terminal branch (no super specialization courses are available after MS in orthopedics), it is in huge demand, and hence there is immense competition for this branch of surgery.
You can also appear for AIIMS PG, JIPMER PG, PGIMER entrance examinations for the same.
MS course (any post graduation course for that matter) is of 3 years duration.
Hence, after you complete your MBBS, it'll take you 3 more years to call yourself an orthopedics surgeon.
The answer of which is absolutely yes...... It is compulsory.....yeah there are some other exams too for some specific colleges or for dnb courses.... But for the best clgs and maximum seats and to get a chance for pg seat all over India NEET pg clearance is must.......after which depending upon ur score u will get the field and clg
Well the answer is as below if you are asking about neet ug and pg-
Neet is pre medical exam , it has to be cleared for getting admission into MBBS course.
To be an orthopedics-
1st you have to appear for neet ug - for getting into mbbs program then after completion of program, you need to appear in NEET Pg or aiims or if you want to do pg from some other country then you need to give exam of that country
After neet pg you can take admission in MS orthopedics
And that is the last step , once you complete MS you are an orthopedics doctor
MD and MS different , For all surgical branches you have to so MS . which is masters in surgery.
So for orthopedics you have to so MS and not MD
All the very best
I hope it helps
