Yes, it is possible to become a computer engineer or software engineer by having commerce stream with an optional subject as computer science.

Since I was also from commerce background with an additional subject as Informatics Practices. So apart from getting into commerce field, I also had the advantage of opting for computer field.

So don't worry you can opt for computer engineer or software engineer by having commerce stream with additional subject as computer science

Yes you can be a software engineer if you have computer science as an optional subject and if you have the required knowledge of coding and stuff. The only thing will be that you won’t be having a B.Tech degree (which is officially regarded as the engineering degree) but companies can still hire you based on your knowledge. Also, you can do courses like BCA after your 12th which can also increase your opportunity for getting jobs.
