As a Probationary Officers in SBI you can be posted anywhere in India including places near to your hometown. In initial two years you may be posted in different SBI branches to learn different types of bank related works like financial analyst, bank teller, loan officer, financial manager , agriculture banking, SME, etc. You can get posting nearby your hometown if you are good in handling banking services but it will be tough because postings are based on requirement of banks. If you are a female candidate, then bank may give preference.
