Hello there,
See, a student can appear in JEE Mains entrance exam only two times in a year and also student can appear in JEE Mains in three consecutive year from the year of passing their class 12th exam.
NTA conducted the JEE Mains exam tentatively two times across various exam
centers.
After clearing this exam candidate will be eligible for getting admissions like NIT, IIIT, IIT , NITs etc.
Eligibility criteria for applying in this course :- Candidate who has passed the 12th class or its equivalent exam in the year 2020, 2021, or appearing in 2022 can apply for the entrance exam. Students can appear in the JEE Main exam for three consecutive year
Talking about the JEE Mains there is the no upper age limit for the exam .

The condition that you have mentioned will be right only if there would be 2 attempts in an year for JEE-Main otherwise if there would be 4 attempts then there will be in total 12 attempts but till now number of attempts in an year is not decided so kindly wait for it.
Like if you are going to pass your class 12th this year then you will have JEE-Main 2023 and 2024 and for JEE-Advance you will be left only with JEE-Advance 2023 provided that you also qualify JEE-Main 2023. This is because for JEE-Main maximum number of allowed attempts are 3 and for JEE-Advance it is 2 which includes 1 year as passing year of class 12th.
